A realistic, hand-drawn pet portrait is a unique memento of a faithful four-legged companion. It also makes a very special gift for an animal-loving friend or relative.

For dog, cat and horse portraits I generally use soft pastels or charcoal, as they are ideal for reproducing the strokable fluffiness or sheen of fur and hair, but I’m happy to discuss other possible media such as graphite pencil or watercolour.

I do my animal portraits from photos, either taken by me or supplied by the client. Sometimes they’re commissioned to keep alive the memory of an adored pet that’s no longer around. What better tribute than a lovingly created, original artwork that will be treasured for decades?
